Default Default UISkin and Character Select Window

Ok, I used to have this working, but it broke just before TSS.

In my EQClient.ini file, I have the line:
UISkin=Custom

In my UIFiles\Custom directory, I had Drakah's Ornate Character Select, which showed a different set of buttons and looked much better than the default login. The attached zip file is his (I may have modified the size of the Screen item, but everything else is original), since I could not find it anywhere any longer.

During the TSS patch, it seems EQ changed from using a EQUI_CharacterSelect.xml file to a EQUI_CharacterListWnd.xml file, and it is even worse than the original. I tried duplicating everything from the CharacterSelect file in the CharacterListWnd file, but I still get the default UI for the login and any character without a UI assigned.

Does the UISkin line not work in the EQClient.ini file any longer?
Can you no longer change the Character Select window?

Either this needs to be corrected, or the CharacterListWnd file should be part of EQLS not EQUI (so we can change it globally).

check the EQLS_templates and the EQLS_animations and make sure the WDT_Filigree3 is properly referenced as well as all the assorted pieces.

Maybe check the EQ_templates and EQ_animations if you cant find it there, I am pretty sure that is still loading screen stuff.

WDT_Filigree3 is defined in EQUI_Templates.xml. Thats not the issue. Everything is in the EQUI_CharacterListWnd.xml file correctly, it even loads in SidlWidl correctly. It does not display in EverQuest.

Either the eqclient.ini line is not causing my UI to load by default (which it previously did), or the CharacterListWnd changes are being ignored by EverQuest. I'm assuming the latter isnt true; more likely it is loading the default UI.

So, does anyone else use the ini file to autoload a UI? Is this still working? Maybe my ini file is borked (its happened), but everything other than this is working fine. Ideas?

The character select mod's of mine I had pulled since they no longer are compatible due to the non-button character select screen SOE changed it to.

I know that your original screen is no longer compatible, but I was trying to edit the new Character Select Window to use the same buttons (for Enter World, etc) with the new character selector window. Looks fine in SidlWidl but I cant get it to load. Just looking for an idea of why this window is not working.

Does your UIErrors.txt have anything like NEVER DECLARED! in it?

I know the four errors are from my Inventory mod, because I removed the DoN crystals and my class animation isnt in the "right" spot. Everything else runs fine.

You'll probably notice that I'm not getting any "using default" lines for XML files. That's because my EQUI.xml file is linking back to the default folder, just to eliminate those errors and clean up the file (as well as sorting for SidlWidl and giving me a EQType reference). Here is that file.
