Actions Window Question
I'm new to xml and experimenting with what I can do, so please pardon my lack of knowledge -
I know from reading these forums that you cannot move buttons to different windows - but I'm wondering if you can move buttons on one particular tab of the action window to another tab of the actions window - just shuffle them around a bit ?
also, is it possible to replace the icons on the tabs themselves with text ? or would it have to be an image of the text, saved as a JPG or something ?
Thanks for the help !

No, you can't move the buttons from one tab to another, at least, not that I have found.
Not positive on changing the icon to text, I'd have to play around with it a bit to be able to tell you. Someone else may already know, however.

You can't shuffle the buttons around to another page on the Actions window because it has coding made specific to each "page" to be able to be used... at least from what I have found. The only thing you can do, however, is shuffle the tabs themselves to a different order, or add another tab (example: make a clickies tab).
As for the tabs to become text, that would be more complicated for a new XML'r but is doable if you have the patience and desire.
In a nutshell, you would need to make a new template that makes up the Tabs and place it in your newly modded file. You can hunt down the parts that make up this code by searching in the Animations file (and/or templates file), but you will need to make unique names for your new template. Then you can make your own blank buttons in a TGA format file and call the buttons from your new coding, adding in <text> tags of what you want.
Or you can do it the sloppy way, and blank out the ALPHA channel (using adobe photphop) of the sections that make up the tabs in the windowpieces_01.tga file. Then add in <Text> tags to those tabs, change the size of the width, etc.
Like I said, its very confusing for someone just starting out. My suggestion would be to find a Mod that has custom tabs already made, or tabs that already have the text-tebs made, and check out how they coded it to make it work. Apply that knowledge on how to make your own. If you succeed, you are very much on your way of creating anything you can dream up.

you could maybe switch the order and icons of the tab making it appear that they are in a different tab, but really are not.
