Default General Resources

Start by reading the SIDL document in your EQ folders...

Then, read up on XML
http://www.w3schools.com/xml/

Then, think out 5 of your top questions, come to this board and use the search feature. Then go to http://www.google.com and use the search feature...Look at the top 3 threads or websites relating to your search.

Then get the tools to start messing around...
XML Editors:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...8&q=xml+editors

Once you become comfortable sorting thru the XML files re-arranging things, move onto creating your own graphics and animations.

The majority of people here love to help answer questions that make them think. The majority of people here appreciate what its like to learn something new and enjoy helping others learn.
I seriously doubt the majority of people here like answering the same questions each time a new person comes in that doesnt bother to do any research on thier own first

In case you are having trouble finding the "SIDL" file, here's where I found it:

C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest Trilogy\uifiles\default\AboutSIDL.doc

I hope this helps, and also, I hope it's the right one.

Thank you, Jobeken!

I know a little about HTML and tags. XML was a little overwhelming when I thought about looking into creating my own xml files for EQ. Your links and advice is OUTSTANDING! I now have a nice little "XML Manual" that I have put together, starting out the SIDL.doc document A little reasearch and "education" and I feel I will be able to actually CONTRIBUTE to this fine website. Don't rush me, though. It may not happen until 2004. LOL

Again, thank you for your great starting point post
