Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere- is anyone updating/has anyone updated default_old to work with PoR? I know I'd use it... I can't stand the new one

Now for the bank window it's a bit more messed up, I'm not sure with the coder was getting
at but what I did is the following.

I opened the EQUI_BankWnd in Notepad, scrolled to the bottom and found the following line...

<DrawTemplate>WDT_Filigree</DrawTemplate>

I removed the "filigree" and replaced with "rounded" so that it looked like this...

<DrawTemplate>WDT_Rounded</DrawTemplate>

I then saved and did the same EQUI_BigBankWnd and then went back and reloaded my custom UI

then copy these files over into your folder

I am havin trouble i have done as you posted above but when i load the skin it goes to the new default instead of default_old for some reason any idea what i did wrong been at this for hours

Sorry, but I have not seen a working reply to the request for help with the old UI.
I absolutely despise the new UI and do not wish to use it.
I want to use the old UI.
I followed the download instructions that drakah gave, exactly...and when I attempted to load the modified UI, I got the NEW UI. Not the fix for the old that I was looking for.
I printed the instructions to make sure I was doing everything properly.

I carefully scanned the BankWnd & BigBankWnd files and both had <DrawTemplate>WDT_Rounded</DrawTemplate>
Yet, my bank still only shows 8 slots.

One reply said to open wordpad and make changes manually.
I am not a programmer or developer and have only a small amount of self-taught computer experience.
I have no idea how to open the files with wordpad and have been trying to get this to work spending 3-4 hours a day for the last 5 days.

I am out of patience and I am seriously considering closing both of my accounts because I can no longer enjoy the game.
Will someone please either post an understandable reply here, or email me directly.

I have a zip (non-self extracting) hosted of default_old, actually renamed it to old_default. Currently the FTP server is off-line as the company is moving the storage array to another room with better cooling. Don't quit just over a UI. Will try to get a link when the FTP is back up.

I dont see how that is possible since that zip is the old UI & makes a new folder called "default_old_POR", which is the folder you would use by ingame command /loadskin default_old_POR. You cannot patch over the default or the default_old folder since EQ will only patch right over it. It has to be the custom folder name so it doesn't do that.

Since POR, the BankWnd became the 16 slot, and the BigBankWnd became the 24 slot, thus being POR compatible to use. There is no more 8 slot bank.

If you do not have POR, the BankWnd will load giving you 16 slots.
If you DO have POR, the BigBankWnd will load giving you 24 slots.

dont see how its possible myself but it is exactly what i get as well also there is no file named eqoptionswnd.xml in any of my ui folders

Not sure what you mean here. Any of you having an error or something using the UI that I dont know about? Post your UIerrors.txt file so I can see, but I do see the EQUI_OptionsWindow.xml in the zip.

Tell me about it! I have moved files, downloaded patches and still I end up with the old UI or worse yet with a locked up comp or going LD from the game to desk top. I have even tried downloading new UI's that I still can't get to work or that do the same as trying to Patch the old one. Sadly I am just not a computer person heck it took me years to figure out how to work these forums. All I want is to come home and log on and enjoy the same game that I have played for the last 4.5 years. Sadly thanks to Sony I can no longer do that so as for now and until they can either support the Default_old UI or till Someone can actually write out in DOWNLOADING OLD UI in DUMMY language my characters will for now just simply sit and collect dust while I go out and look for some other medium to spend my money on.

Dummy language:

1) Download file: http://www.eqinterface.com/download...nfo.php?id=4615

2) Save ZIP file in location EverQuest\uifiles

3) Rightclick on ZIP file and choose "Extract to here" providing you have WinZip installed.

4) Now you should see a folder created for you named "default_old_POR"

5) Load EverQuest

6) Type /loadskin default_old_POR

7) Enjoy the old interface
