Default TGA bits as background for templates

My question is: (Before I do the artwork) :

Can I assign locations to a 256 TGA file that has multiple images on it to use as seperate backgrounds for diffierent windows?

Here's what I want to do:

-I want to make one long bar that crosses the screen horizontally-

-Is made up of diferent window backgrounds with different images on them that are stretchable .. (actually the redrawing itself).

- But instead of having to make seperate TGA files for each window.. can I put all the pieces of these backgrounds for the various windows on ONE tga file and just sight the loc of each to have it recognize that piece as the backgound?

My point is : that I don't want a bunch of tga files if I can fit the stuff on one 256x256 tga file.

What say you?

Yes you can. The only reason to use seperate tga files is not enough room for the graphics or to keep each window mod stand alone (able to be placed in any UI).

Thanks. I'll get started on it

Update: I can't make it work.
The tga file is 256 the bar I want is at loc 0 x 156y. It will only draw from 0,0. I don't want to do a place bar thing because then I'd have to have the full length of the image in the file.
I want it to repeat (redraw itself) like the default Borders do, and like the background does depending oupon how big you size it.
But I don't want to call it a Border.. those are a pain in the a** to write out. I just want to use the selected area as a background.
(A much easier write.)
I tried adding Ui2D animation but that would mean it isn't a background anymore... Am I missing something?
