What would it take to get .rar as a file we are allowed to upload?

For that matter, why not go with a superior format such as .7z ( www.7-zip.org)
Edit: I suspect it is because everyone has regular Zip built right into windows. |

This.
Some people have problems figuring out how to uncompress a zip file and get the ui installed properly as it is. Lets not confuse them with .rar, let alone .7z.
