Default interesting idea

i dont think ive ever seen or heard of anything like this before, but i was wondering if it might at all be possible to put your characters buffs in a window other than the normal buff window. i noticed in the eqtype listing thread that there are eqtypes for each of the buff slots.. but how would one go about inserting them into say your compasswnd.xml?

Only the buff labels have an EQtype. The buff icons themselves do not.

Yep, but pet buffs have a further restriction, you can't even move them out of the pet buff area. They have to stay in the pet buff area that is in the pet window. You can mod the pet buff area to look like the pet buff window but they have to remain intact.

However, if you want to give the pet buffs the appearance that they are in a diff locale, you can try changing the relative position to false and give the screenitem an absolute position value.

excellent idea but for me that isn't going to work out as i was hoping to put them in a tab of a different window. I think im going to switch the buffs with the pet command buttons - can the command's be put elsewhere?

buttons are hardcoded to only work in one window, so no they can't be moved either.

Compared to EQ2 xml and WoW interface modding, this stuff is cake.
