Zanta- there's no reason why you should have to do any sort of maintenance after patches. If you don't modify core or shared files (EQUI, EQUI_Animations, EQUI_Templates) and you don't copy the files from the default directory to your custom folder, your UI will not break and you will not need to do anything at all.

And if a file is causing problems, there's no point copying the default one over it- just delete the one in your custom, and if your UI is set up intelligently so window files aren't interdependent, your problem should be solved. Permanently.

You're making about 10x too much work for yourself.

Thank you everyone for your help.. I have everything working now except the spell icons from t.king are only showing up in my cast bar and not in buffs, or spell book... going to head over to t.king and see if he has anything there about it.

The only reason the graphics wouldnt be working is if you didnt have the right ones in your folder... they are called "spells01.tga - spells05.tga" they need to be in whatever folder you are using for your mods.

ok as I said everthing seams to be working except that my spell icons t.king's work on my spell bar but not in spell book or buff bar.. and my errorlong is still full of stuff

my custom file doesn't have these.. but it does have gemicons 01 and gemicons 02......

Your uierrors file will always be full of stuff. As long as they are all just warnings though you are fine there. It is when you see Error that it would be a problem.

As for the spell icons you need to make sure that the files "spells01.tga - spells05.tga" are located in your skin dir and that they are the ones from tking. There are two sets of files that are uesd for the spell icons in EQ. One set is the "gemicons01.tga - gemicons02.tga" which it sounds like you have since those are the ones for the cast bar icons. It is the other set that it sounds like you are either missing or are not the right ones from tking, which would be the ones that control the spell book and the buff bar. Those files would be the "spells01.tga - spells05.tga".
