Ok, ive done some reading...
Read some of the help forums here and it's getting clearer. I do have one question that I cant find an answer to. When you create graphics (for example, hot buttons), do you need to create the buttons in the graphic (pieces06.tga for example) to the exact size they will be placed in your UI or can you create the buttons at any size and simply use the xml file to size them to what you want? (i.e. make a button that is 40x40 pixles in the .tga, but tell the .xml file to use that button but shrink it down to 25x25)?
Basically, can you make an image but when you reference it in your xml file, change the size and it will work?
Kinda wondering on the buttons, but also the spell icons and gem icons.

I would think you would need to make the graphic the correct size for it to fit in a location.... But I could be wrong.
But to be honest, I too wouldn't mind an answer to this inquiry as well.

In xml it can be made smaller but if the image is big an will be displayed at a drasticaly smaller size ,the new display image will lose detail an some times look just odd.For example if one took a 256x256 image an tried to make a hot key from it at 40x40 you'd have a weird colored box not your image.
I try not to shrink image more than 1/4th to preserve the image .Read some where here that shrinkage needs to be in even number proptions (10% or 25% etc not like 33.33%) to prevent grafic odditys in eq.Havent seen this because i try to have images as close to display size as posible,shrinking ahead of time in photoshop .
