Ok, I am not going to work on the html, xml, or tga files. I am no artist nor do i want to be one. I also am not going to learn for the sake of making a UI...period.

Now with that being said, all I want to know is which files in the default folder are absolutely necessary for Mix-n-Match UI creation. I tried to copy default to a new file, called homade, downloaded the most interesting pieces I could find, overwrote the files in homade, then tried to /loadskin it. Crashed to desktop!

Heres what I have that looks fishy: LoYgrpver2rev2 in JPEG?
Target in JPEG?
tt_inventory in PNG?
AYAepic in TGA (yay)
There is enough beautiful art out there, I just need a tutorial on how to compile it for myself. If i have left you with more questions than you care to answer here, then just drop me a line.

Step 1. Delete it all and restart.

Step 2. Do not copy your default folder.

Step 3. Put the first file you like into your custom folder.

Step 4. Check (in-game) and make sure it works.

Step 5a. If it does, good, make a back-up of the folder.

Step 5b. If it doesn't, post your UIError.txt log file, which is found in your main EQ directory.

Step 6a. If it was 5a, add the second file you like to your custom folder. Go back to Step 4.

Step 6b. If it was 5b, wait until you get a response on how to fix those errors. Make the fixes. Check in-game again to make sure it works now. If it works now, go back to Step 4.

Step 7. Repeat steps 4 through 6 until you have all the files you want in your custom folder.

All I have to have is one file in my custom UI folder? Then add pieces one at a time till I have everything that i want? Thank you very much for your assistance.

Too many errors to post, Trying to load from default skin is what it says on all lines. Trying to load just AYA's Cleric Pointer, 2 files + the read me, and that is all in UI file. Should i try a spellbook or something a different piece. Will be doing this until i get it right, may not be savy, but no quitter either.

Actuall these lines are good. The only ones you need to worry about in your UIerrors.txt is are lines that says error..... The other lines are saying you didn't load something for that window or graphic so it is going to grab the default one instead.

Unless you are talking hundreds of lines, no, it isn't too many, go ahead and post it.

Hrm, so that modified the EQUI_Animations.xml file, yes? If so, zip it and attach it to a message here and I'll try to take a look at it, see if I can fix it for you.

So you just dropped both the .tga and the .xml files in your custom folder and it crashed your client, yes? (Sorry, just easiest on both of us if we confirm things one step at a time)

correct. I am going to try another render to see what happens, just going to insert some T. King spell gems, see if its just that program while you poke around in the programming. Once again, thank you.
